Teacher Appreciation Week

Here are the plans for Teacher Appreciation Week, which include school wide plans and specific plans for Ms. Kate.  Items which require special attention are in red.

A few weeks ago, Ms. Kate mentioned really enjoying when her students brought her flowers in the past, noting that some even brought them from their own yards.  When asked what she might like, she thought of her students first and said she would love assistance getting the projects she had posted on DonorsChoose funded.  Thanks to your amazing generosity, that already has happened!  She has received the bug specimens and shared them with the class and is awaiting the laptop and cart.  Wow!  Thank you to all who were able to contribute!

She is an incredible teacher, and our goal this week is to show her our appreciation.  As a class, we will coordinate efforts on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, but please feel free to show your gratitude in any way you like, and thank you in advance.

You may wish to keep in mind the following specials this week, too.

  • Monday ~ Enviro Ed with Mr Jim
  • Tuesday and Thursday ~ PE with Coach Balinda
  • Wednesday ~ Garden with Ms. Christine and Ms. Cissy

In addition, the PVO is seeking snack donations and volunteers.  For more information, please visit the site Nanci March has set up.

Plans for the Week

  • Monday, May 2nd – Bring in a live flower for Ms. Kate. I will bring extra flowers in the morning in case anyone forgets.  According to her profile, roses are her favorite.  As you may have guessed, she has a special fondness for worms, so the students created a “We Dig You, Ms. Kate!” worm poster for her, which will greet her when she arrives at her classroom Monday morning.  Many wrote personal messages, such as “You are the Best teacher Ever!” and “I love when you read to me.”  (Thank you Anne [Erika], Brian [Elise], and Cathy [Shelby] for your assistance in creating this.)
  • Tuesday, May 3rd – Lunch provided for all teachers in front of library.
  • Wednesday, May 4th – Bring in a fruit. We will have a basket in the classroom for her to put it in.  I will bring extra fruit, in case anyone forgets.
  • Thursday, May 5th – Chair massages for all teachers in the library  9 – 11:30 a.m.
  • Friday, May 6th – Send in a thank you note, drawing, poem, etc.  At your discretion, feel free to include a gift card. Her profile responses appear below.  Breakfast for all teachers in Heron Hall  7 – 8:30 a.m.
